Have you ever seen something that looked so real, but so fake? It’s called 3D Painting. It gives life to an ordinary work of art. We have been used to seeing ordinary paintings that we ourselves learned how to do at school, but 3D Painting gives us an impression that it’s really alive as if it jumps off the paper or canvas.
The video shows how an artist draws a snake using the 3D Painting technique. He starts with the usual way of coming up with the framework of the drawing by making the outline or sketch of the object to be painted. He then goes on to meticulously draw the defining character of the object, and in this case, a snake. We can see the superb skill of the artist to come up with necessary techniques to make his drawing looks lifted or floating from the drawing sheet by simply putting shadows on specific locations against the light source of the painting. He uses an ordinary paint brush and an air brush. And after that, he then puts the finishing touches. One more thing that I noticed, the artist cuts a certain part of the drawing sheet to expose a body part of the snake to make it look like it’s a real live snake. What an awesome technique.
Placed on the table, you could actually think and believe that it’s a real one. Look how the artist tried to show it to a little girl to know how she would have reacted. Upon seeing the snake, of course just like all of us, she suddenly stopped and hesitated to move any closer to it. And by way of interpreting her reaction, it looked like she informed somebody there that a snake was inside the room. If I were the one who saw it, I would have done the same, or maybe would have killed it immediately. You can’t really tell it’s fake because it looks so real.
