Martial Arts, originally, were created to enable the Chinese army to fight against invading foreign forces in China during the olden times. They have evolved into various styles and disciplines and said to enhance our bodies’ health and strength. In these modern times, it has also become part of sports.
Seating on the front row watching it might get me nervous and uneasy. I might shout “Watch out!” all the time.
Whenever we see this kind of feat we would sometimes associate it to Martial Arts superstars like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li fighting against the antagonists in their films. Can anyone do it too in real life?
The answer maybe a yes, but this one on the video is just a practiced performance done by highly-trained martial arts students.
Don’t mistake these two girls for Shaolin nuns, they are not. Watching the video, you may think that they seem to be locked in some kind of a deadly combat, but actually, it’s all scripted and performed purely for competitions. It’s not a real fight. All movements and routines are numbered and precisely practiced. We’re not really sure if they use real sharp weapons or fake ones with dull edges.
Some forms of Martial Arts are now played in the Olympic Games. They’ve become not only intended for self defense but also for competitive games.
