Have you ever experienced performing on stage? I bet you have. Almost all of us experienced that. It could have been in school programs or any contests we joined in the past. I believe you’ll agree with me when I say that it’s very frightening to be on stage in front of many people, more so if it’s on national television. You know, having those shaky knees, stuttering speech and reddening face. It’s like you’re losing yourself and don’t know what to do, and if you do know, you’re unable to execute it right no matter how well you practiced at home. I know you can relate to this.I’d like you to meet Christopher Maloney, a man who auditioned and was able to muster all his guts and courage to overcome stage fright even if he failed in trying many times in the past. He finally stepped on stage at X-Factor UK. He didn’t let fear stop him from achieving what he wanted and have made it much to his surprise.
Even in the onslaught of fear, Christopher managed to answer the judges’ little questions. You could see how he shook, and his entire face reddened, a clear indication of stage fright. He’s got his grandmother as his best supporter. Christopher sang Bette Midler’s “The Rose,” the song that was actually played in his grandfather’s funeral. That song was very dear to him as his grandpa was. The moment he opened his mouth and started singing, he instantly wowed the audience as well as the judges with his very good agile voice.
Christopher had made it to the top as the contest progressed. His story later became a word of mouth, and serves as an encouraging factor to everyone who wants to follow their dreams. He later opened up the Dance and Drama Academy at Liverpool to help and encourage young performers to harness their potential. What an amazing transformation he’s gone into.
