I guess you’re all familiar with the talent show “The Voice.” Counterparts from other countries like Holland showcase their own local talents as what you’re about to see on this video.

The Voice of Holland discovered someone who sings almost like Whitney Houston in the person of Romy Monteiro when she sang “I Will Always Love You.” She may not have that same powerful voice like what Whitney Houston had, but she definitely sang her way to the judges’ interest that made all four of them turn around in great approval during the blind audition.

Romy surely has that singing talent that the judges are absolutely looking for. You can tell right away if she’s got it or not. You could see that in the judges’ faces the moment Romy released her first line. She could effortlessly glide to the high notes of the song that only Whitney Houston could do.

From the scrutiny of a trained musical ear, Romy has a clean falsetto voice and manages to incorporate some slurs in some parts of the song. I like the way she transitions from natural voice to falsetto voice. There are no breaks, it’s just nice and smooth, especially when she hits high notes. She shows no voice rigidity at all. A little bit unclear with the diction, but she has her own originality in some way and imitates some of Whitney’s signature style.

Auditioning in this kind of talent search takes some guts and real talent. You’ve got to have what it takes to make the judges approve of you in your singing. Remember, all the judges here are also singers. They get to gauge you according to their standards. Making all of them turn is not a usual thing, I guess. That only means that the one singing surely has that amazing factor, that exceptional talent. Well, let’s find out what happens to Romy Monteiro on the next phase of the audition.
